Clinic patients and their families step into a world of wonder at UCSF’s Stad Center for Pediatric Pain, Palliative & Integrative Medicine in San Francisco.
Belle & Wissell has crafted a truly enchanting media installation that transforms interaction into a delightful “water play” adventure. This responsive projection and rich audio experience leverages the gentle flow of generative water, revealing charming native Northern Californian animals in a playful manner.
Nestled within the clinic’s nature-inspired environment—complete with cozy alcoves and inviting furnishings—this playful installation encourages joyful engagement for younger patients. As little hands approach, the flowing water comes alive, creating a captivating sensory experience.
This special project was realized through collaboration with UCSF’s dedicated internal facilities team, the visionary architects at NBBJ, and the talented soundscape composer Jonathan Warman. Together, they’ve created a space that is both healing and joyful.
