Produced by Weatherhead, this project was developed as part of the exhibition titled “Startup: Albuquerque and the Personal Computer Revolution” at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science.
This twelve minute multimedia experience titled “Rise of the Machines” is an innovative mechanical-meets-digital experience designed as an “artifact theater” where artifacts come to life to tell their stories.
The experience conveys the story of the microcomputer revolution, utilizing an 18-foot wide, motion graphics projection on scrim, and an array of computer artifacts that are individually featured as characters in the story.
A fun, multi-channel soundtrack helps to immerse the audience in this complex story. Belle & Wissell’s Gabe Kean art directed, designed and keyframed the video portion of this experience.
