Sweet Crude is a documentary film that reveals the sad realities about the struggle that oil has brought to the Niger Delta.
Belle & Wissell contributed overall art direction from rough cut through final cut, and developed a system of look-and-feel for typographic treatments for titles, lower-thirds, and credits. The studio designed a series of motion graphics including Adobe After Effects templates to be applied throughout the film during post-production.
The studio worked closely with director Sandy Cioffi and producer Kate Wolf to develop a visual language that was appropriate for presenting this extremely important content.
Using textures and lighting effects with motion design, a style guide and motion system was established and then extended by the larger team of motion designers.
