In collaboration with the museum’s curatorial team and Allied Works Architecture, Belle & Wissell created a series of integrated media installations at the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver, Colorado.
A 17-foot-wide, 4-station (multi-touch) interactive timeline presents Still’s life in context of art history and other important historic events.
Mechanical, dial-driven Exhibit Film Story Viewers allow museum visitors to browse and play short documentary content to help better understand concepts like “What is Abstract Expressionism?”
Belle & Wissell also designed LED back-lit graphic panels that played supporting roles to the digital timeline experience in calling out key historical moments.
Project Accolades:
The Los Angeles Times Art Review: “Denver’s Clyfford Still Museum,” 2011
The Denver Post “Denver’s Clyfford Still Museum: From the abstract to the concrete,” 2011
The Denver Post “Museum’s Opening may shed new light on Clyfford Still,” 2011
Westword “The Clyfford Still Museum’s Inaugural Exhibition tells the artist’s story,” 2011
