The Palmer Museum of Art’s new Exploration Gallery offers a nature-themed art activity that inspires visitors. Hand-colored plant and pollinator forms on printed sheets are digitally transformed and displayed on a collective canvas, creating a cohesive experience that connects the Museum’s collection to the adjacent Arboretum.

Completed colorings are brought to life at the Artwork Capture Station, designed and engineered by Belle & Wissell’s own Matt Arnold. Using projection, camera capture, and computer vision AI, the Station identifies each artwork and converts it into an animated 3D model.

These unique contributions culminate in the Composition Canvas, a projected virtual art garden that animates and grows with the support of immersive sound design. The experience fosters creativity, strengthens connections to the Museum, and reflects its unique surroundings.
